Serverless computing provides a great platform for hosting the applications on cloud. The developers need not worry about the management of servers and their maintenance and can only concentrate on the code. It reduces the maintenance costs and the cost to set up the infrastructure. Serverless platforms provides built-in scalability, availability & fault tolerance making it easy for the developers to focus on application development instead of infrastructure management. Microservice architecture helps developers to deploy small modular applications that are loosely coupled using technologies like docker.The microservice performance implications related to: infrastructure elasticity, load balancing, infrastructure retention, and memory reservation size are to be examined. The change in the response time for the warm and cold service requests are to be observed. This check is done to have an idea of elasticity. A check of how the computational requirements of a service impact the performance of a microservice is done. The affect of provision variation of the containers on the performance of microservices will be examined.There is a great necessity for learning the above factors because of the amount of advantages provided by the microservices and the so called serverless computing platforms. The microservice architecture enables easy maintenance and provides high availability. Through examining the above factors, developers can make great deployment decisions.
